As I mentioned yesterday…my new thing is creating name canvases. This next one I made with my nieces help for her dad’s birthday a few weeks ago.
These next two were for my SIL…the mother of the little one’s from yesterdays post. She is a teacher…music and science. She requested name canvases for her classrooms…so here’s what I came up with for those.
I love the way the music one turned out. I took the canvas off the frame and stamped on it then put it back together…it adds such an elegant feel to it, which I think goes along so well with the music theme. The science one was fun as well…I wanted that one to be a little more playful and bright…I think I achieved that.
These next two were also requests by my SIL, this time for co-workers who have birthdays coming up.
My SIL wanted red and turquoise with an animal print and a lot of bling. This was a fun one too…I had three subjects to incorporate on this one…English, Art and Theatre. I was able to find clipart of a zebra print and free-handed the design onto the canvas and did the stripes in red. I did an overlay of turquoise glitter paint, which helped bring in some bling.
The second one was for a science teacher, she teaches about solar systems. I did a blue black background and added three constellations…the big dipper, little dipper and virgo…as that is this teachers astrological sign. I did those in white and did other tiny dots in grey to add some more to the night sky effect. I added the planets around the name so they looked like they were “orbiting’ it. Such a fun feel. They both will receive them this week…so I can’t wait to hear what they have to say about them.
So…what do you think?
Thanks for stopping by!
