My brother’s birthday was yesterday…I won’t say how old he is…not that he reads my blog…but he did mention to me that he’s feeling his age 🙂 Anyway…he’s kind of hard to buy for sometimes…so I made up a few things to give to him along with a gift card from Lowes…every man loves Lowes right?!
I made him a dozen note cards with his name on them in the lower right corner…I used a dark blue and black ink, six of each. I scored a few lines above that to add some interest. I wanted them pretty plain so I didn’t do much else to them. I stamped the back of the envelopes with his monogram. I also made him a notepad with his name on there as well. Same idea as the ones I made for my dad for Father’s Day, except I used a different font. I made a little canvas bag to package it all up. The font is the same one I used on the notepad…it’s called caribbean treasure and has some jagged type edges to it…kind of manly don’t you think? I used my Cricut to cut out the letters and then ironed them on.
For the card I found note pad clip art with a coffee stain on the bottom and used that for the base…love it. I printed out a ruler graphic on some kraft cardstock and used only part of it across the middle. I wanted it to feel like it was a piece of scratch paper he may be using to design out a project. I printed out a pencil image as well and cut that out. I attached it near the text so it looked like it was written with the pencil…the font was a pencil font I found online for free…I love free! I created a pocket on the inside to hold the gift card. There’s still plenty of room on the right side to write a message.
So here it is…click on any photo to enlarge…
So what do you think?
