My SIL Pamela is having a birthday on Saturday…so below is her long awaited gift. Long awaited because I was making this for her for her birthday last year…but life got in the way…we bought a house and were moving during her birthday…things got packed up and was not uncovered until a few months ago. This project took me a while to put together…I wanted to make it special since it was for two birthdays and since she totally appreciates “handmade” stuff. So…here’s what I came up with…a wooden box, painted and distressed with Tim Holtz crackle paint and distress inks. Die-cut flowers on the top. On the inside…lots of goodies…cards she can customize for the recipient…on the top of the box I attached a matchbook style folder…inside…address labels stamped with lots of sentiments…she can choose for whatever occasion and attach to the blank layer on the card. The cards were made using 4 different patterns of paper, but the same layout as the photo below. I also made some additional fabric flowers…attached some foam adhesive and stuck to an acrylic sheet…she can pull off and add a little pizzazz for a more “girly” card. I also added a pen, decorated with some paper to match. The tags…she can use when she’s doing a quick gift or she can tuck into an envelope for the recipient to use later as a bookmark.
So here’s all the photos…click on any to enlarge…
